[Anaheim, CA – April 10, 2025] – SD Toyz, a family-owned company with over 30 years of toy industry experience, announces Rummy Snap, an imaginative tabletop game that transforms traditional card games into a modern, tactile experience. Having launching on the auspicious April Fool’s Day, 2025 the campaign runs through April 30 with an $8,000 funding goal. Product will ship in September.

Rummy Snap reimagines familiar games, with a fresh 3-D design featuring 55 premium hard rubber tiles. Each 1.5-inch octagonal piece incorporates soft-snap puzzle technology, allowing players to connect tiles down, across or diagonally on an ever-growing shared grid. The set includes tiles representing a complete 52-card deck plus three wild jokers with special powers.

“In an era dominated by screens, families are searching for authentic ways to connect,” says Stephen Koehl, president and lead inventor at SD Toyz. “Rummy Snap emerged from fond memories of competitive family game nights around our parents’ tabletop in the ’70s and ’80s. We’ve channeled that spirit of connection into a game that combines the best elements of old classics like Gin Rummy, Uno, and Mexican Train Dominoes.”
Designed for 2-4 players, Rummy Snap challenges participants to strategically place all their pieces while minimizing their score across multiple rounds. The game’s intuitive mechanics make it accessible to casual players while offering deeper strategy for gaming enthusiasts.
